About Karen Hurwitz Small

Karen Hurwitz Small limits her practice to representing injured workers in claims decided by the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.

Ms. Small is a 1989 graduate of Williamsville North High School, a 1993 graduate of Union College (BA, Political Science) and a 1996 graduate of the American University, Washington College of Law (JD).

Admitted to practice law in New York State in 1997, she is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association, and the Injured Workers’ Bar Association.

Ms. Small is the daughter of this firm’s founder, Melvyn L. Hurwitz. Father and daughter have been practicing together since 1997. Ms. Small is the niece of the late Sheldon Hurwitz (Hurwitz & Fine).

Ms. Small spends most of her free time as a busy mother of three children. She is an avid reader and loves to spend time walking the dog!
